We have a place to live

We got approved for our apt. in Philly. The complex has some rules about who can live there based on income. The requirement is 38,000 a year combined income. Well as students, Ashley and I don't quite hit that mark for last year. (We didn't quite hit the 20,000 mark either.) But we know that other students have lived there in the past so we figured there must be a way. Well we went through the whole application process and got all the stuff off to them, but they needed a letter stating that Ashley had a job lined up in Philly. Ashley didn't have a job lined up in Philly that would cover the 38,000 requirement. (She has found a part time tennis teaching job at a local club) So we talked to complex and finally got it all worked out with a co-applicant on the application as well. So it is all taken care of now and we have a place to live. That would have been a little hard to try and move and then find a place to live. We are just glad that it all worked out and we are going to have a nice place to live. The complex is in Drexel Hill, PA. It has about 1200 total units so it covers a lot of area. It is kind of tucked into it's own neighborhood off any busy streets and looks like it is going to be a nice quite place to live for the next year.

We are planning on trying to look for a house to buy after our first year, but this will give us a chance to get to know the area a little more and figure things out and if we will realistically be able to afford a home. I think it will be good for us for that first year. Plus I get next July and August totally off so that might be a great time for us to try and move into a home.

Well exactly 2 weeks from today we will be loading up our moving van and getting ready ti hit the road. It is hard to believe it is so close to happening already. Then orientation starts for me just 3 short weeks after that. Crazy!
